Brightwave takes best e-learning award at DiMA:S

Date posted: 28 November 2008

Last night, Brightwave picked up the Best in E-Learning Award at the DiMA:S (www.thedigitalmediaawards.co.uk) for their back-safety e-learning course on behalf of Virgin Atlantic. The course beat stiff competition and was short-listed alongside DB Education and Purple Media.

The award winning Virgin Atlantic e-learning course from Brightwave targeted employees at high risk of back injury to improve their posture and develop correct lifting techniques. As well as creating positive cultural change and a projected 25 per cent reduction in back injury numbers, the course also ensured Virgin Atlantic achieved and demonstrated health and safety compliance.

The "Back on Track" programme uses story-telling and interactive learning around strong cultural and visual references to reach a primarily young and international target audience within Virgin Atlantic, without dumbing down.

Lars Hyland, Director of Learning Services at Brightwave said: "This award recognises the talent and passion of Brightwave’s development team. To generate real healthy cultural change in a large and complex organisation such as Virgin Atlantic, through highly interactive tools, was rewarding enough, winning the award is a huge bonus!"

The DiMA:S, the first of its kind, was held at All Saints Church, Hove. The awards recognise and reward passion, creativity and business genius in the digital media sector in the south of England.
